Father charged in death of 2-month-old child

A Paton man has been charged with murder in connection with the death of a 2-month-old infant in September.

According to a press release from Greene County sheriff Jack Williams, the sheriff’s office and Greene County Ambulance responded Sept. 3 to an address in Paton after receiving a report that the child was not breathing. The sheriff’s office opened an investigation into the cause of the child’s death.

As a result of the investigation, Nolan Wilson, 26, of Grand Junction was arrested Dec. 19 on charges of murder in the first degree and child endangerment resulting in death. He was also charged with domestic abuse assault by strangulation causing bodily injury.*

The obituary for the child, Rowan Dale Wilson, listed Nolan Wilson as his father.

*In every criminal case, a criminal charge is merely an accusation, and Wilson is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
